Experience: Located behind Carraba’s Italian Bar & Grill, there’s something for everyone at Adventure Cove. Beginning at the arcade you can use your cash or card to obtain a specific number of tokens based on $1, $5, $10, $20, and $40 increments. Games include classics such as Ice Ball, Dance Dance Revolution, and Whack-a-Shark as well as new, modern games such as Deadstorm Pirates, Terminator Salvation and Connect 4, most of which dispense tickets that can be redeemed for many different prizes from small gimmicks, to stuffed animals, to even lawn games. Games cost from a measly 2 tokens (worth 50 cents) to as much as 8 tokens per play. There is even a simulator called Typhoon that will set you back 12 tokens per ride. Be sure to feed your tickets to the ticket eater machine for a receipt that is easier to carry before you make the trade.
When playing mini-golf you can choose between two golf courses, Paradise Falls and Lost Lagoon with the latter being the more challenging of the two. Paradise Falls goes to a large plateau, which you climb and enter through a cave while sinking your ball into eighteen uniquely crafted holes. Lost Lagoon winds around small water hazards and the holes have hilly terrains and offer more of a challenge, with the eighteenth hole being the most uniquely crafted in the entire location since you must hit your ball through a waterfall or risk the ball falling into the drink.
Thoughts: Before it’s remodeling, Adventure cove was a lot larger and had much more, including a built-in subway, bumper cars, 4-D theater, laser tag, roller coaster simulator, a shooting gallery and even a large play area for the wee ones as well as a larger arcade and the miniature golf course. However, because of disputes between the new owners and other real estate firms, the location had to be cut down to its current size, only a handful of arcade games and miniature golf course stayed for good. Old customers who remember this place before the renovation will be a little down by its current form. But what it lacks in fun it makes up for in uniqueness of the mini-golf courses, and that restores the lost fun that resulted from the renovation. Spend an hour or spend the day, everyone will find something fun at Adventure Cove.
They also have three birthday party packages so you can plan a little birthday bash for your child and several of his or her friends.
