As the holidays draw near, friends, family, neighbors, and everyone in between will be gathering in your home to celebrate the season. Before you know it, your house will be bursting at the seams with holiday guests. If you find you may have invited a few more heads than you can handle, check out these great tips for seating everyone comfortably, so all can enjoy the holiday festivities!
Swapping Rooms – If your dining room or kitchen is too small to seat everyone comfortably, consider using your living room or den as your dining area. Move your dining room table into the largest room in the house and make your dining room a cozy lounge area. Swapping rooms and reshuffling furniture can magically turn any home into the perfect holiday party venue, where there's room for everybody.
Extending Tables – If you haven't already, invest in a table with an extendable leaf or two to make room for twice as many place settings. If you don't have the time or budget for a new dining set, dress up a few folding tables with nice tablecloths and seasonal centerpieces.
Additional Seating – After shifting furniture around and sorting out the table situation, it's time to consider seating. It's always a good idea to have a few extra dining room chairs available for when company comes into town. To save some space (and some money), purchase a set of inexpensive, comfortable folding chairs from your local furniture store. Pull out your ottomans and decorate benches with a few throw pillows for additional seating.
We hope these tips will help you when preparing your home for holiday guests.
