Julie, Sometimes I wonder about paying commissions to an agent when I get so much information online about selling my home. What do you do to earn that commission and how does it benefit me?
There is plenty of information out there about buying and selling real estate but at the end of the day, a real estate professional takes most of the hassle and worry out of the transaction. Not all real estate agents are real estate professionals, so choosing a good one is the key.
A good real estate agent should be able to negotiate for you and save you more than you pay them. They help you price the property correctly, weed out the lookers from the buyers, make sure that a buyer is qualified to purchase, as well as make sure the whole process goes smoothly.
With the internet there is a lot of information on how to do many things. On the real estate sites, much of the information is incorrect as the sites gather it wherever they can. The information does not come directly from our local MLS service, it comes from what real estate agents input and what comes out of county records.
If you are not trained in finance, you can cost yourself a lot of money by selling a property yourself. Setting your price by using the online info would be a lot like diagnosing an illness using Web MD. How many times have you run to the doctor thinking that you have some horrible disease because of what you have read on line.
If you are about to put your property on the market, let’s talk. I know how to get houses sold. I will tell you the truth and make sure your property is properly positioned in the marketplace and will always keep your best interest in the forefront of all I do.
Our company will provide services that others do not have the expertise to provide. It all starts, as I said before, with proper positioning in the marketplace. This means far more than a well priced property. We come in and merchandise your home (some call it staging) to make sure that it is in the proper condition and that it shows in its best light to buyers. I see so many properties that are put on the market without any thought to presentation. Deferred maintenance, clutter, and improperly placed furniture do more to chase away buyers than anything else.
I also have skills that hardly any other real estate agents possess. I hold 8 real estate designations, I am a certified and trained mediator, an instructor for the SC Real Estate Commission, and have 35 years of experience. What this means to you is that you will have a knowledgeable real estate professional working for you who has the ability to get you the highest price for your property, in the least amount of time, with the least amount of inconvenience. Those are not just words, just ask anyone who has hired us in the past (click here to see what our clients say).
If you want to make a little piece of The Island your own, you need more than just a road map and a REALTOR. You need a partner who can make things happen.
