Fall Family Fun Checklist

To celebrate the best season ever, here are 14 great ideas to get you and your loved ones having some fall fun!

1. Go on a hay ride.The outdoorsyness of the moment gets everyone giddy and smiling. Lots of fun for every member of the family.
2. Go on a serious search for the best pumpkin latte. Check out your local coffee shop’s newest version of the pumpkin latte.
3. Check out the local fair or festival. There are tons of local events and fairs to enjoy here in the Lowcountry. Go have some fun and enjoy all the tastes and smells of fall!
4. Make s’mores. Build a cozy fire in the fireplace and roast some marshmallows.
5. Play tourist. There are some really cool local museums, fancy restaurants and even historic sites in Hilton Head Island and Bluffton to discover. Make a night of it, grab a map and take pictures. Tonight, you’re a tourist!
6. Walk on the beach and watch the sun rise.What is better than walking down the beach, holding hands and greeting the new day?
7. Rake and play in the leaves. Who said leaf jumping was only for kids?
8. Go for a scenic drive or bike ride. Wow, the leaves are just plain gorgeous during the fall.  Take a drive or ride and get ready for some impromptu photos to capture the beauty you  are taking in!
9. Grill out and have a drive-in in your yard. Grill out with your family and watch a favorite movie or game outside when you build this diy outdoor movie theater.
10. Relax, Sit and Enjoy Nature. I just love laying outside and watching the world go by. It is so peaceful to lay in a hammock or atop a blanket and slow down. Grab a fave book and read it out loud together while you enjoy the fresh smells of fall and all the beautiful sounds of nature.
11. Have a family dinner night- at home. Order dinner, appetizers, salads from a few of your favorite restaurants and share it. Have a cuisine adventure and huddle up together in the living room and watch a favorite movie with the whole family.
12. Go to a local sporting event. A cheap, local way to enjoy some sporty fun with your family. Help support your local school and community teams.
13. Go rollerblading or skating. Dig out those old roller blades and take a stroll and watch the fall leaves and enjoy the beautiful weather. Holding your kids or spouses hand for “support” is always a big plus :)!
14. Check out the pumpkin patch. I love pumpkins! So cute to decorate with and so many pumpkin recipes to make! You and your family can go on a hunt to find the best pumpkin ever, and then take it home, toast the seeds and make pumpkin butter, pumpkin pie, pumpkin zucchini bread, pumpkin soup or carve the scariest jack-o-lantern ever!
