Example ‘must-haves” may include kitchens with granite countertops and stainless appliances, perhaps a large master bedroom suite, two-car garage or even large backyard. Today, however, one of the latest on the must-haves list for many homebuyers is a room for a home office.
In recent years, thanks to easily accessible high-speed internet service, more and more Americans are working from home. Not only are they saving time and money on long commutes, they are also cutting down their stress levels and that’s never a bad thing.
The number of employees working at home has been steadily climbing ever since 1997. According to a recent article on Think Google, searches for telecommuting hit an all-time high, and that’s certainly no surprise given our current COVID situation. More and more employers are realizing that their workforce can be just as productive, if not more so, by working at home as they are in the office.
While many people have recently been forced to work from home, working from a kitchen counter or coffee table is less than ideal. To be really effective when working from home, having a dedicated space is a must for productivity.
While every home doesn’t have have a dedicated home office, look for ways you can take an existing room, such as a den or spare bedroom and make that into a dual function room. When you are trying to work, it always helps to have a quiet designated work area. A home office can be that sanctuary where your productivity can soar.
