If you’re getting ready to list your home for sale, it is important to do your homework before you put it on the market. Research other homes in your area, find the right real estate agent, and know where you should list your home. selling your home

  • Find the right price: This is definitely the most important thing you will need to do when selling your home. Choose an attractive price that will encourage homebuyers to take a closer look. Finding the right price can be as easy as researching recent sales in your neighborhood for comparable homes, and pricing it accordingly.  Usually, it’s recommended that you work with an experienced real estate agent who can give you a good market analysis.  
  • Find the right Realtor: A good real estate agent can help you sell your home quicker. They can list your home in the MLS system, help price your home, and work within their extensive network of contacts to help sell your house fast.  Don’t choose just any Realtor – interview a few agents and go with the one that feels right and can demonstrate great expertise. 
  • Find the right photographer: Do some research and ask friends and colleagues to recommend a good photographer that can take nice, professional photos of your house. You will want someone who knows how to shoot indoor and outdoor shots with a high-definition camera. Do NOT rely on your iPhone to take listing-ready photographs. 
  • Find the right place to list your home:  Perhaps the most important place to list your home is the local MLS service, so it will be available to Realtors showing homes to prospective homebuyers. Ask one of our Realtors how to do this! Beyond that you can list the home on Trulia.com, Zillow.com, and Craigslist. You can also use other local online directories and newspaper classifieds.  You can also consider creating your own website for the home (at 123ShelterCove.com or something similar) to list extensive details, photos, and even video tours of the house.
